Should I hire a birth photographer?

The response to my discounted birth sessions was unbelievable and I quickly filled those spaces up! Thank you! I love that birth photography is becoming so popular and that people see the importance of investing in it. There are still some women that have questions about it and I'm going to do my best to help answer those questions.

Why hire a birth photographer?

Memories. This is probably my favorite! I don't know about you, but when I look back on any pictures I've taken throughout my life, it's as if time stands still. I remember that exact moment and how I felt at that time. It brings back that same rush of emotions. I'm kind of reliving that moment.

Your significant other can focus on you. I regret never hiring a photographer to document my babies entering this world. In my defense, I didn't even know it was a "thing". I never thought to look in to it and I certainly wish it was part of my birth plan. Instead, my husband snapped pics as he could, that is when he wasn't focusing on me. That is always most helpful for a laboring mama. Support.

It takes the pressure off you! You don't need to worry if that first glimpse was caught or if the actual birth was captured. That's right! My last came so fast, my husband couldn't even grab the camera from our hospital bag and honestly, it wasn't even on our mind at that second. Pushing was all I could think about. It would have been nice to have a professional. Which brings me to the next one....

Quality. Sure. Cellphones are so advanced now, heck, even the latest iPhone has a portrait setting. Snapshots don't even come close to what a professional birth photographer can capture. Believe me, it's worth it!

Best "push gift" EVER. I'm a sentimental person. Pictures mean the world to me. The best gift after laboring for hours and delivering your sweet babe is seeing the photographs taken during the birth process. You'll probably cry just as hard as when you met your baby for the first time.

Birth is beautiful!
